Stickers all over the place...

Happy New Year!! I haven't written or posted in eons, due to be busy and such. Today I will write and post about stickers. That's right-stickers! I used to love stickers as a child-I would but them everywhere in my room and when I was older, I would "collect" them and put them in photo albums. In my ripe old age of 41, I no longer consider myself sticker crazy, but I see stickers all over the place, when I walk the streets. They are on street and business signs, as well as on the back windows of cars. Over the past two years, I have taken a few pictures of this sticker mayhem.

I found this stuck on the Y Not Pizza sign.

Found this on the back of a VW Beetle.

Raging Drunk Kool-Aid Man.

Fat cats not allowed to park.

No pizza allowed on school grounds?  (Note: Y Not is very good pizza and should not be compared to dog doo)

Blog Neglect...

I haven't paid attention to this blog in months! I have been so busy with work, life, and health issues - it's so easy to almost forget that you have a blog. I don't know if I will keep up, but I will try.

Therapy

Yesterday I made a little trip to the beach for a some feet-soaking therapy. The beach was bustling with people (tourists and locals) due to the Fourth of July weekend. I made my way to the ocean waves through a mass of people and beach umbrellas. I soaked my feet in the waves for a few minutes, in which it felt relaxing. Relaxing and soothing to have salt water run over the toes and legs. After a good soaking, I treated myself to a Dairy Queen Reese's Blizzard, that was good-though I wished there was more Reese's in it. I decided to top off the day with a trip to the art store to get a few beading supplies. I came home, showered and crashed on my bed for three and half hours. A great day it was.

Therapy  : )

Fourth of July

Thursday night I went to see the annual Fourth of July fireworks in my neighborhood. Got to stand in the spot that I stood in last year. There were a lot of people there as well as a few dogs (I don't know why people would bring their pets to see and hear loud explosions). A young couple and their children were next to me and were in awe of the fireworks. The fireworks display was good, but not as good as last year's. The reason why it was not so good, is that some of the rockets did not explode and ones that did explode were not shot high enough, barely making it above treetops and buildings. I shot some video anyway and you get to hear some kid commentary (the young couple's children standing next to me). The last video is the fireworks finale.

This sculpture reminds me of Wolverine somehow...

I saw this sculpture today while I was out eating lunch. The sculpture somehow reminded me of Wolverine's big metal adamantium claws.

Happy Weekend!

So glad it is the weekend. Looking forward to Saturday after a frustrating Friday (don't get me started-it includes user unfriendly software and a possible unmailed or stolen package). At least Friday is coming to an end with a beautiful sunset (the sky was alight in gold and is now streaks of fluorescent orange and ultraviolet) and flashes of lightning (methinks a thunderstorm is coming). I saw this during my lunch break at work, it will put a smile on your face and help usher in the weekend. You could say it is a celebration of the weekend arrival.

A Stressful Day...

Had a stressful day today. Stress can drain the energy right from you. You can't even think straight. I think I am going to call it a night. I am hoping that tomorrow will be a better and I am hoping that the week will be better.

I feel much like this Care Bear.

A strange looking tree...

Yesterday, while I was out walking, I encountered a strange looking tree that looked it had cotton candy growing from the branches. I don't know what the name of the tree is.

Flowers of Spring and Summer...

After a long grueling winter, the warm weather came back and so did the flowers. The beauty speaks for itself.

It has been eternity...

It has been a long time since I have posted. I have been busy with life, work, and health issues. All is okay now. I need to get back into the swing of things. A while back, I decided to merge my two blogs: "Moods and Afterthoughts" and "Seeing things at Random" into one, because it would be easier to work with. With everything going on, I just did not have the time to work on the merged blog. But I need to make the time, as I need to start working out again (another thing that I let slide and I need to make the time for as well). Let the posting begin!

Coincidences...

Finally opened a fortune cookie that I got with a takeout a couple of weeks ago.  The fortune reminded me  of a scene from a Seinfeld episode.

My fortune for tonight

It's been a long winter...

Today was nice in the 50s today, but this month and before, it has been cold. I think it has been the coldest winter in a long while (haven't felt this cold in eight years). Last month it snowed for a day (January 25th) and I took some pictures. I hope winter is coming to an end and spring is arriving. The signs are already there: sun is setting later in the day, some flowers are (roses and daffodils) are blooming, and Girl Scout cookies have arrived.

New Years Resolutions, if I can keep them...

Last year I made several resolutions for 2012. I seemed to only keep numbers eight and nine. I really did not get to keep the others very well.  Here is my list of resolutions for 2013:

  1. I should always make time for exercise, even if I am not in the mood, I need to make the time. My muscles are starting to ache from the lack of exercise.
  2. I need get at least 8 hours of sleep, drink plenty of water, cut down on the carbs, just only drink two carbonated beverages a day, and remember to practice portion control.
  3. Always think positive!
  4. If I want it to be a good day, it is up to me to make it a good day.
  5. Keep in touch more with family and friends
  6. Cut down on computer/internet time.
  7. Read more books.
  8. Keep on making jewelry and start experimenting with other crafts (cross-stitch)
  9. I should not overload my mind on so many things, and only concentrate on the most important thoughts.
  10. Always remember that life is short

Wishing Everyone a Happy 2013!!

Sinus Headaches...

I have been dealing with sinus headaches for the past month. My left eye has been throbbing horribly. I have popping Advil Liqui-Gels like candy and eating spicy foods to drain my sinuses to no avail. The headaches have been so bad, that I ended up with a boil on my left eyelid earlier this month (the boil has long since popped open with pus and infected hair follicles). The headaches have been more intense after Christmas. Today was the worse, spent most the day in bed with a wet towel over the left eye. It also felt like the left nostril was going to explode. I had to go out and do laundry and run a few errands, so I did that after resting with the wet towel.  I also went and got a vegetarian burrito with jalapenos and hot sauce at Moe's, which alleviated some of the congestion.

Later that evening I ended up getting tired, so tired that my eyes were constantly closing. I ended up sleeping till midnight and I woke up in further pain. I had some leftover Advil Cold and Sinus, but was not sure whether to take it since I am on new meds that might conflict with it. Called the Walgreen's where I get my prescriptions at, and I was put on and off hold for thirty minutes. At one point I heard the pharmacist and pharmacy tech conversing about car insurance, but I was put back on hold. I even called customer service to complain and try to get a hold of the pharmacist, but it was no use. I had to call another Walgreen's to get help, and I got a hold of a pharmacist within five minutes who told me it was okay to take the Advil Cold and Sinus.

It's been an hour since I have taken it, and I am still feeling the same. The lights are dim in my apartment, because it's the type of headache that makes me sensitive to light and sound. I am seriously thinking of seeing a doctor later this week, if this shit keeps up.

This is a picture of supernova-to-be Eta Carinae which is ready to explode tomorrow or in the next million years. This is what I feel like right now, I feel like Eta Carinae:

I need to go to bed...

It's almost 2:30 AM and I am still up. Why am I still on the internet looking at lolcats? Being an astronomy enthusiast, this made me quietly laugh.
